“What an amazing evening”, began Dr Caroline Pryer, Lord Lieutenant of Northumberland, who on Tuesday 24 March 2026, presented her Lord Lieutenant’s Certificates for Meritorious Service to members of the Reserve Forces, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and members of the civilian staff.  Dr Pryer also presented 4 Star Certificates to members of the Cadet Forces and appointed her new Lord Lieutenant’s Cadets for 2026.

In her address she paid tribute to the service and commitment given by all recipients and said she was “in awe” of their individual achievements as embodied in their citations.  

In welcoming her newly appointed Lord Lieutenant's Cadets, Dr Pryer thanked her outgoing Cadets for their support and true professionalism during their year in post and wished them well for the future. In conclusion the Lord Lieutenant thanked Commanding Officer Lt Col Iain McGuire, and the team at Zulu Coy, for hosting the event, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Band for their excellent musical contribution to the evening and the catering section for the delicious supper that followed the ceremony.
