A great evening for all those involved in the presentation ceremony of the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire's Certificate of Meritorious Service on Tuesday 3 March. Brigadier David Maddan DL, representing the Lord Lieutenant, Mrs Joanna Ropner, presented Certificates to members of the Reserve Forces, Cadet Forces Adult Volunteers and civilian staff. He also presented Cadet 4 Star Certificates to cadets from Cleveland ACF and appointed the Lord Lieutenant's Cadets for 2026. In his address he congratulated "each and every worthy recipient" and thanked families and friends who had attended the ceremony adding that their support was essential and hugely appreciated by the Defence community. Thanks also go to Lt Col Kenneth Neilson, Commanding Officer, The Royal Yorkshire Regiment, Quebec Company, for hosting the ceremony, the band for their excellent contribution to the evening and an appreciative shout out to the Chef for the amazing buffet he provided.
