In the presence of HM Lord Lieutenant for Northumberland, Dr Caroline Pryer, Cllr Aileen Barrass, Mayor of Blyth Town and Cdr David King, Commanding Officer, HMS CALLIOPE, signed the Armed Forces Covenant on Saturday 3 May 2025, demonstrating Blyth Town’s support of the Armed Forces. Also in attendance was the Deputy Chair of the Council, Cllr Daniel Carr.
The ceremony was conducted during the VE80 celebrations, which continued throughout the day, when an estimated 4,000 members of the public enjoyed the many activities on offer.
