Having taken over from Lt Gen Robin Brims as Chairman of the North of England RFCA in April 2018, I would like to welcome you to the Association's website. I hope you find it both interesting and informative.
As you are already aware, the Armed Forces continue to go through a period change, until 2020, and the RFCA is playing a vital part, particularly in the reorganisation of the Army Reserve. We shall keep you abreast of the progress that we are making. We operate in the North East and are one of 13 Associations covering the United Kingdom. Funded through the Ministry of Defence, we are responsible for the property and facilities management for the Reserve Forces, Army Cadet Force (ACF) and Air Training Corps (ATC) premises, and for administering the ACF. In addition, we support the employers of Reservists, support the recruiting of the Army Reserves and engage closely with local communities.
The Association has a voluntary membership of 130 people coming from a wide cross-section of society with an interest in Defence matters, and an executive staff of 19, based in Durham, and a further 27 staff in the 3 ACF Counties based in Middlesbrough, Chester-le-Street and Cramlington.
