Commandant - Cleveland Army Cadet Force
Vacancy will occur for the post of Cadet Commandant with Cleveland Army Cadet Force, based at the TA Centre, Stockton Road, Middlesbrough TS5 4AD, on 1st May 2010. The County has 30 detachments with about 140 adult volunteer staff and 830 cadets. The post of Cadet Commandant is a voluntary appointment. However, the successful applicant will be appointed to a TA General List Section B Commission, with the acting rank of colonel (on lieutenant colonel rates of pay), and will be paid normally up to a maximum of 28 days per annum under the Paid Training Days Scheme; but additional days may be authorised in exceptional circumstances. In addition, payment for residence to place of duty and motor mileage allowances may also be claimed when on official duty. Candidates will have served in the rank of major, recommended for promotion, or above in the Regular Army, TA or ACF, and usually be under 62 years of age and have held a command appointment. The normal period of tenure is 3 years, but the incumbent can apply for an extension of a further 2 years. ACF candidates are to confirm that they have the authority of their County Commandant to apply. The closing date for applications will be Friday 19th March with the selection board in early April..
