Reserve Forces and Cadets Association
for North of England

Over the bank holiday 9 members of 103 (TEE) Fd Sqn raised funds for the Army Benevolent Fund, the Soldiers' Charity. It is the National Charity of the British Army and provides financial and practical support to soldiers, veterans, and their immediate families in times of need, even after they have left the Army.

Capt Douthwaite, SSgt Bradley, Sgt McNestrie, Sgt Smith, Cpl Bowman, LCpl Martindale, LCpl McKeown, Spr Fairminer and Spr Gilmour of 103 (TEE) Fd Sqn from Heaton, completed a gruelling charity event from Edinburgh Castle to Newcastle Keep on mountain bikes in aid of The Army Benevolent Fund. The team cycled 192 miles with a stop at Bamburgh Castle marked as the halfway point.  The team had to dig deep to find the energy to carry on through certain parts of the ride, due to the incline climbs on the route, but it was a fantastic effort by all.

The photographs show the team starting out from Edinburgh Castle and finishing at Newcastle Keep.
