Over the bank holiday 9 members of 103 (TEE) Fd Sqn raised funds for ABF The Soldiers' Charity. It is the National Charity of the British Army and provides financial and practical support to soldiers, veterans, and their immediate family in times of need, even after they have left the Army.
Plain Sailing for Stanley Army Cadet Marc Hague
Durham Army Cadet Sergeant Marc Hague, 17 from Sheild Row, Stanley has embarked on a voyage of remembrance, adventure and personal development to mark a century-old anniversary. In the splendour of Tower Bridge and the River Thames, Marc boarded the Tall Ship Lord Nelson and has set sail from London to Edinburgh on a ten-day voyage.
From Pride to Paris for Durham Army Cadet Musicians
Last weekend over 35 young army cadet musicians between the ages of 12-18 performed at two high profile events from Newcastle to Paris. The Band & Bugles of Durham Army Cadet Force (DACF) is nationally recognised for the standard of performing at military and public events through the UK and Europe. The young musicians have played in Malta, Windsor Castle, Wembley Stadium, Durham Cathedral and Alnwick Castle in the presence Her Majesty the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, and many more over the years and most recently can add Northern Pride and Disneyland Paris to the list.
Durham/Northumberland Wing Air Cadets Win The Brims Cup
Congratulations to Durham/Northumberland Wing Air Cadets Team winners of The Brims Cup at the NE RFCA Cadet Relay Triathlon event held on Sunday 15 July 2018 at Hummersknott Academy, Darlington. The winning team was (l to r) Lara Greggs, 607 (Wearmouth) Sqn, Lucy Tickell, 1509 (Blaydon) Sqn, Matthew Knott, 2344 (Longbenton) Sqn and Fl Lt Michael Scott, 234 (City of Durham) Sqn. Overall, six teams competed in the event, and everyone agreed that it had been a great competition and a great day out.

NO BREAK IN TRADITION FOR DURHAM ARMY CADETS On Sunday 8th July, Durham Army Cadet Force joined teams from all over the North East Region, to take part in 4th Infantry Brigade’s 2018 First Aid Championships, and Durham ACF took gold for the sixth successive year, a record unequalled by any other North East County.
