Committee Structure
The Association carries out its responsibilities through a series of committees, which are accountable to the Chairman and are chaired by Vice-Chairmen. They are:
The Association Board
The Association Board is the only committee which is obligatory under the Statutory Regulations. The Board is the main policy making group of the Association and shall exercise the powers and perform the duties delegated to it by the Association. The Board is responsible for all matters relating to the exercise of the powers or performance of the committees of the Association and must report on such matters to the Association. The Board will meet up to three times per year, but additional meetings may be held as necessary and as directed by the Chairman.
Property Advisory Board
The Property Advisory Board is responsible for the maintenance, long-term review and development of the Volunteer and Cadet Estate.
Financial Advisory Board
The Financial Advisory Board is responsible for the review of expenditure by the Association and for its long-term planning policy.
Tri-Service Cadet Forces and Youth Advisory Board
The Tri-Service Cadet Forces and Youth Advisory Board is responsible for ensuring that the Association complies with the MoD Cadet and Youth Policy through the Tri-Service Cadet Forces and Youth Committee.
Tri-Service Cadet Forces and Youth Committee
The Tri-Service Cadet Forces and Youth Committee aims to provide and encourage coherency, coordination and cooperation to the Cadet and youth effort in the Association area.
Representation and Recruiting Support Committee
The Representation and Recruiting Support Committee provides a decision-making and coordinating function for the promotion of Representation, Community Engagement and Recruiting support activities within the region.
Regional Employer Support Group
The Regional Employee Support Group is responsible for the promotion of Reserve Forces’ interests with employers through the SaBRE (Supporting Britain’s Reservists and Employers) campaign.
Organisation
The Association Headquarters is based at 53, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3JJ, where it employs 19 Crown Servants under a Chief Executive within four departments: Property, Assets & Facilities Management; Finance, Employer Support; and a General Office. The Deputy Chief Executive is also the Regional Coordinator of Cadets and Youth.
The Association is responsible for administering the three Army Cadet Force Counties, Northumbria, Durham and Cleveland, through 27 Crown Servants in Cramlington, Chester-le-Street and Middlesbrough respectively.
